Mrs. Radtke—World History and Special Education

About Me/professional information

Hello, Students!

Although I am new to King George Middle School this year, I have taught in both King George Elementary School and Newport News.  I am excited to be at KGMS!

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Education (Wells College, Aurora, NY), Masters of Business Administration (Simmons College, Boston, MA), and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (College of William and Mary).  My Post Graduate Professional teaching certifications (grades K-12) include Special Education, History/Social Sciences, Business Education, and Marketing Education.

Originally, I am from Cape Cod Massachusetts but moved to Virginia 20 years ago and love living here!  I also love outdoor activities including competitive sailing, water sports, Nordic skiing, hiking, and golfing and enjoy reading biographies as well as articles on history and marine ecology.  I have a husband, two children, and a yellow Labrador retriever.

It’s going to be a great year!

“The function of education is to teach one to think

intensively and to think critically.  Intelligence plus

character—that is the goal of true education.”
